The Fear (1+1=phew) is a short work of fiction and the first literary undertaking written by Benjamin Brayley. Adopting the 'pen' name 'Ben' as a short reference to his literary works, the book is framed by the author as having been composed in a stream of consciousness style that is experimentally and visually unorthodox for the reader for a specific communicative purpose. Given its length and subject matter, it is often categorized as a novella or a conceptual piece rather than a traditional novel.

"the words on the crumbled piece of paper found in his jacket were faded but still eligible it read they write on me and accentuate what is but it doesn't mean it's any more or less than what it is coin"
A Recording Technique is the second literary work from Benjamin Brayley which sees him employ the type of experimentation from his predecessor applying text and form in a different manner laying out a unique formatting template that plays out like a roll that shifts between rewinding and fast forwarding through the past, present, and future that sums up everything together to a reflective conclusion.

"All that can be said can't be said enough"
This collection of poems and lyrics is personal and rhythmical. Most of the pieces are confessional and abstract, with the author (or a persona) reciting an inner journey while dealing with the different mysteries of life. Often the poems are in response to another person, sometimes directly and sometimes more in the sense that the speaker is thinking about that person. Many of these have repeated phrases or choruses and take the form of songs. The themes deal with affection, leaving, and the wonders of the world, among other things. Also, the author has written them with a forward motion involved in the form of a countdown, beginning with 10 seconds at the opening of the book. - book review by Mark Heisey
